OK, you did the holiday thing.

You either were the one doing all the work, opening up your home to family and friends and are currently wondering what that sticky substance is in the corner of the living room and how it got there.  Or you were the person visiting someone else's home turning your kids loose to wreak mayhem and eat all the food they could because you had no intention of feeding them Wednesday night.  Either way, there was some level of stress on everybody involved.  Ironically, while it's called a "holiday", you really need some time to recover from it.  Especially if you're going to be doing something on New Year's Eve which can be both stressful and crazy. We need a national day of recharging.  I suggest "My Dine Out Day".  Here's how it works... Think about the best meal you ever had at a local restaurant.  Then choose a day this weekend and go to that restaurant and treat yourself.  For me, it's brunch at Bintliff's in Ogunquit.  If I ever find myself on Death Row, the corned beef hash from Bintliff's will be my last meal.  If you need some thought-starters, I suggest clicking "Restaurants of Christmas" on the nav bar at the top of this page.  While Bintliff's isn't there at the moment there are some fine suggestions.  Even if none of them work for you, get out one day this weekend and grab a really great meal guilt-and-family free.  It's still the holiday season so remember to tip well if the service was good.
