Nurse with Ebola in stable condition
A Spanish nurse with Ebola who just hours ago was described as critical and deteriorating is now listed in "stable" condition. A spokeswoman at a Madrid hospital says Teresa Romero is in serious condition. Yesterday, the regional health chief has said her condition had taken a turn for the worse. Romero is the first person known to have contracted Ebola outside the outbreak zone in West Africa. She had been helping treat a Spanish missionary who became infected in West Africa and later died.

Police make second arrest in alleged sexual assault case
Police have arrested a second man for allegedly sexually assaulting co-workers at a Portsmouth Burger King outlet. Police say Paul Richford groped a woman and two girls when he worked at the fast-food outlet, allegedly threatening one victim by claiming to be a police officer. The Portsmouth Herald reports Victor Garcia was charged earlier in the case.

Officials want testing on well water
A report by state officials and Dartmouth College suggests hundreds of cases of lung, bladder and skin cancer could be averted if private well owners in New Hampshire tested their drinking water for arsenic. The report figured its estimate by comparing the number of wells testing positive with state cancer rates.
