Where Do Baby Carrots Come From?

I've always wondered how those little carrots are grown.

Weird things pop into my head as I roll my shopping cart up and down the aisles of the grocery store. The latest...where do baby carrots come from?

I see many Moms (and Dads) tossing those pre packaged veggies into their shopping cart as they get ready to fill those lunch bags/boxes for back-to-school.

Did you know baby carrots actually come from adult carrots but go through a process to look like mini versions of the fully grown orange veggie?

HINT: They pick the carrots while they're still young for a much sweeter taste and smoother texture.
