Officials in the Garrison City are trying to find where a million gallons of water are going each day.

According to Fosters.com water consumption began going up about a month ago and no one knows exactly why or where all of the water is going. To that end, the Community Services Department in Dover is using special water gauges attached to fire hydrants to help detect the leak.

Special meters such as this are being attached to hydrants to measure water flow. They are being used at night and then being analyzed the next day for whatever data that they can provide.
