Woman Killed In South Berwick Police Shooting

(South Berwick, Maine) - A 55-year old woman died Thursday afternoon after pointing a gun at Police officers who opened fire.The York, Maine woman had been pursued by police after leaving her home on Ogunquit Road around 12:30. She was said to be armed and suicidal, so police set up spike mats and flattened her tires. She exited the disabled car and aimed a handgun at police officers who opened fire, killing her.

The Maine Attorney Generals office is investigating the case.
