Worldwide Chocolate Shortage: Are We Running Out of a Valuable Resource?

If you ever took an economics class you might be familiar with the laws of supply and demand. We pay more or less for things depending on how much of it is available whether you're talking about food, gas or tickets for a sporting event. But now things might just have gone too far.

According to many media outlets, the world could be on the brink of  a worldwide chocolate shortage. Manufacturers can't keep up with the demand for chocolate.

So, expect prices to go up. You might want to stockpile your favorite items for the future, sort of like "Doomsday Preppers" with a sweet tooth. Heck, you might even see this as a reality show sometime soon. (You heard it here first).

Hopefully the chocolate industry can gear up production like it was mobilizing for war. The happiness and well being of everyone might just depend on having our snack machines well stocked with chocolate goodness.
