State Police say they received several calls around 1 this morning about a car traveling northbound in the southbound lane on the Everett Turnpike.  The vehicle traveled through the Bedford tolls and continued onto I-293 northbound towards the Hooksett Toll Plaza.

Troopers from Troop D set up at the Hooksett Toll Plaza and were successful in deploying  spike strips hitting two of the four tires. The suspect vehicle pulled into the breakdown lane south of the Hooksett Rest area, then attempted to leave from the breakdown lane and pull back onto the highway on two flat tires.

The vehicle was blocked by Troopers from Troop B and Troop D, preventing  further driving in the wrong direction.

24 year old Chelsea A. Cormier of Windham was taken into custody without incident. Cormier was charged with Driving While intoxicated.
