A lot of cities have already started this trend and now Portsmouth is hopping on the band wagon.

The app is called "Passport Parking" and allows people to refill their meter without having to be at the meter or display station. GENIOUS!

To start out it will only be in the Worth and Bridge Street parking lots but I am sure that is just the beginning.

According to Seacoastonline.com, the city of Portsmouth is testing eight new sensor parking meters that accept credit cards.

“Eventually, we’d like to take all of our single-space meters, there’s 215 of them, and replace them with these," Portsmouth Parking Manager Joey Giordano said recently.

The future is here and it looks like less parking tickets.
