When you get an invitation to a free lunch you usually pay some attention. When the invitation comes from the front office of the Boston Red Sox to join them at a BBQ joint in the shadow of Fenway Park you pay a lot of attention. I was pretty sure they weren't going to offer me a baseball contract but it certainly was intriguing. The picture became clearer when I got to Sweet Cheeks BBQ on Boylston Street in Boston. Lots of Sox administrative folks and legendary New England concert promoter Don Law were there and it could only mean one thing... A Fenway concert!

We already knew that Billy Joel would play America's Most Beloved Ballpark in June, but since I'm a country guy, this had to be a country show! While the invited guests were enjoying some great BBQ, and perhaps the best mac n' cheese ever, Red Sox COO Sam Kennedy started talking about Fenway's track record of concerts. All great shows, all sell-outs. Twenty-eight sell-outs in a row. Don Law stepped up and talked about Fenway being a great concert venue and how much he enjoys working with the Sox team.

Then he introduced a video... Zac Brown announcing a ZBB concert at Fenway on Saturday night, June 28th!  The show is just two nights after the Billy Joel show while the Sox are away battling the Evil Empire. Zac's announcement was followed by videos from several Red Sox players welcoming the boys to Fenway.

Tickets for Z-2-B at Fenway go on sale Saturday, March 29th. Prices will be $39.50 and $99.50 (plus house charges). Before going into a mac n' cheese induced coma I was able to secure some tickets for the Morning Waking Crew to give away next week, so you'll have your shot first thing Monday morning!
