Original Halloween... God bless Jamie Lee Curtis! Well, there's Jamie Lee Curtis... And oddly I'm kind of a fan of unstoppable, inexplicable evil.

Dawn of the Dead because I was in college and really drunk. It was late at night in  Boston, around midnight and I was with two other college friends. I don’t think it scared me at all, it just seemed kind of silly.

28 Days Later. The first twenty minutes of this Danny Boyle film are about as tense and edgy as it gets in horror. Released in 2002, it really is the reason zombies are, erm, fashionable these days (and without it is unlikely The Walking Dead would be the hit show it is). In true horror movie tradition, the sequel featured a different director and wasn't all that great. The original is just flat out phenomenal.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The boat in the chocolate scene still freaks me out.
