Cracker Barrel Unveils New Logo — But Something’s Missing [Picture]
For the first time in forty-eight years, Cracker Barrel has made a major change to their logo.
They've removed the gentleman sitting down at the barrel and gone all text.
Cracker Barrel says the new logo "is now rooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape and word mark that started it all" (via FOX News).
The brand's original logo rollout in 1969 was also just text — the man at the barrel was added in 1977.
A company spokesperson describes the bold new logo look as being, "Anchored in Cracker Barrel’s signature gold and brown tones."
The new logo will be featured on menus and marketing.
This comes on the heels of ongoing fan controversy about Cracker Barrel modernizing their dining rooms by removing most of the trinkets on the walls and painting them a more basic color.

It seems as if Cracker Barrel is bringing their dining experience into the modern era, while throwing back their logo to its original.
According to Scrape Hero, there are 657 Cracker Barrel locations spread out across America, and the next time you see one off of the highway, it will likely feature the brand new logo and refreshed dining room.
Where Was the First Cracker Barrel Location?
The original Cracker Barrel was built in Lebanon, Tenn. in 1969. While the original spot no longer exists, Cracker Barrel's home offices are still located in Lebanon to this day.
