Having spent time in many states on the East Coast, I can honestly say that one of the great things about Maine is the abundance of amazing restaurants. While there are many excellent chain establishments, the locally-owned eateries truly showcase the best of our state.

They come in such a wide variety, too.  We have places that specialize in breakfast, restaurants that serve up amazing BBQ ribs & pork, and eateries that serve incredible ramen and bao buns.  We even have restaurants that are known for grilling and serving amazing hot dogs.

One of Maine's hidden gems, an eatery known for serving up some of New England's best hot dogs, has just announced a 2025 re-opening date and we could not be more excited.

Bolley's Famous Franks in Hallowell, Maine

Located on Water Street in Hallowell (just over the Augusta line), Bolley's Famous Franks will re-open for the season at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4th.

Why 7 o'clock in the morning?  Because, in addition to serving great dogs, Bolley's makes amazing breakfasts.

If you have never been to Bolley's Famous Franks, they offer much more than just their renowned hot dogs. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, chicken baskets, haddock baskets, shrimp baskets, amazing onion rings, and poutine.

And, as I mentioned above, they make some unbelievable donuts.  Made fresh daily, they come in four varieties: plain, chocolate, cinnamon, and molasses.

Check out their full menu HERE.
