Located in Brunswick, Maine, Bowdoin College was founded in 1794.  A smaller college, Bowdoin has just under 1,900 students.  Students at Bowdoin College can major in dozens of programs, including anthropology, Asian studies, art history, computer science, astronomy, and neuroscience.

In addition to academics, the college offers more than 100 student clubs and groups, as well as athletics.

You can learn more about Bowdoin College from the school's website.

This is not the first time in recent months that Bowdoin College has been in the news.  Evan Gershkovich, who graduated in 2014, is a reporter for the Wall Street Journal.  Over the last year, he has been held in Russia.  Despite having full press credentials, he is being detained in Russia on charges of espionage.

For obvious reasons, the Wall Street Journal has been keeping a close eye on the detainment of Gershkovich.
