Here’s How Much Snow Maine & New Hampshire Will Get on Friday
If it seems like we've gone through much of this winter without many snow events, you would be correct. As a matter of fact, as someone who does quite a bit of snow plowing for different neighbors on my road, I can easily count on one hand the number of times I've needed to put the plow on the truck this year.
Fast Forward to this week and we end up in the middle of a very active weather pattern where we are getting several bouts of snow all over the course of one week. Central Maine got quite a nice coating of the white stuff on Wednesday and now, it looks like it will happen again on Friday.
According to WGME 13, our next round of snow is set to move into the region on Friday evening. Once the snow moves in, it will be widespread throughout most of Northern New England from Laconia south to Bangor north.
Temps will be hovering right around the freezing mark as the snow moves through which means it could potentially start out as rain in some areas before switching over to all snow.
WGME went on to say that the snow should be mostly out of the area by about midnight on Friday, meaning that Saturday morning travel should be okay. It will be fairly quiet until Sunday evening when another event moves in through part of Monday.
As far totals go, southern Maine and eastern New Hampshire look to be the jackpot area with totals approaching or even exceeding half a foot or so. But get ready, because it turns bitter cold this weekend with wind chill values plunging into the negatives.
Sunday night into Monday looks to also be a quick-mover and won't be a 'blockbuster' storm, however it could certainly still impact Monday morning travel and commutes so definitely check back in on Sunday for a more detailed forecast.
