Maine’s Patrick Dempsey is the Best Thing About ‘Dexter: Original Sin’

I was so excited to see Maine native Patrick Dempsey in the new 'Dexter: Orginal Sin'.

I am a huge fan of the original Dexter. I thought the first four seasons were brilliant and although I found it went downhill, I was a fan to the end.

First came 'Dexter' in 2006, then came 'Dexter: New Blood' in 2021, and now 'Dexter: Original Sin' in 2024. If you haven't seen New Blood, stop reading. SPOILER ALERT! He dies. But not really, because now 'Dexter: Resurrected' is coming out next year. Okay, that's a lot of Dexter. Let's break down the new version of Dexter.

'Dexter: Original Sin' takes place 15 years before 'Dexter' in 1991. So all the actors playing the main characters are not the original actors, they are look a likes. And then a new character Captain Aaron Spencer played by Patrick Dempsey. I love him in this! He's brash and swears a lot and his beautiful mane of hair is slicked back with a bad-guy mustache!

I'm not a huge fan of the new Dexter, despite Maine's Patrick Dempsey

I wanted nothing more than to love the new 'Dexter: Original Sin'. I'm not that into it, even though I do love watching Patrick Dempsey...in anything. The series feels old and already done with actors I don't know and have no emotional connection with. But, it might just be worth watching just to see our Patrick Dempsey rock out that mustache and say the 'f' word.
