New Hampshire Firefighters Asking for the Public’s Help After Water Damage
You know, it's not often that Firefighter's ask for our help. They are the ones that usually do the helping, not the other way around, but this time, it's for the kids, so they are going to ask.
The Dover NH Professional Firefighters Association is asking for your help after their toy bank flooded due to a water main break in the beginning of August, 2024. About 6" of water destroyed the stock pile of toys that they have always had at the beginning of the holiday season. The toys were to be used for needy families all over the city.
If you want to help re-stock their supply, all you have to do is bring a new, unwrapped toy to any one of the three Dover Fire Departments throughout the Garrison City.
Here are the locations:
- Liberty North End Fire Station, 262 Sixth Street
- Central Fire Station, 9-11 Broadway
- South End Fire Station, 25 Durham Road
Of course, they are open 24/7, so if you have a wonky schedule, don't worry about it. They are always there and will come flying down the pole to greet you. (Actually, I'm not sure about that pole part, but you get the idea.)
Money is always welcome, so if you like, you can drop off cash or a check. You can also mail it to:
DPFFA, P. O. Box 1004, Dover, New Hampshire, 03821
There is nothing worse than not having enough for your children during the holidays to get them a toy, especially when they are young. The Dover Professional Fire Fighters Association has been helping to make the holidays bright for 40 years. They will do it again this year with our help.
