Barstool’s Dave Portnoy Reviewed These 5 Massachusetts Pizzas So Far in 2025

Barstool's Dave Portnoy has continued his pizza review journey, having already taken on thousands of spots with no signs of stopping.

According to IBISWorld, there are well over 70,000 pizza joints as of 2024, and with new ones popping up amongst the longstanding ones, there are plenty of places to hit up and score.

As of June 12, Portnoy has already had nearly 100 reviews for 2025, including five from Massachusetts. But how did they fare? Any super scores or really low scores?

Portnoy dropped five pizza reviews for Massachusetts spots in May 2025.

They were Pizzeria Rustico in Boston, Braintree Brewhouse in Braintree, Mike & Lenny's Bar Pizza in Walpole, Laced Pizza & Pub in Foxborough, and Eagle Brook Saloon in Norfolk.

Let's take a look to see how each spot fared on his pizza scoring system.

A common trend amongst these pizza reviews was the style, which is the bar pie.

This kind of pizza is thinner than a New York style pizza and often more crispy (sometimes fluffy) and laced, where the edges of the crust are crisp and caramelized.

No bad reviews were found amongst these five Massachusetts spots, with the top dog of the group being Eagle Brook Saloon in Norfolk, Massachusetts. That one scored a 7.9.

According to the Sun Chronicle, this popular spot has been around since 1981.
