Bomb Threat Delays Dismissal for Dover NH High School

A bomb threat delayed the dismissal of students at Dover High School Thursday afternoon.

The threat was received via a telephone call to Dover Middle School around 2 p.m., and the school was evacuated, according to a letter from Superintendent William Harbron. Dover Police searched the building and the school grounds and found the threat not to be credible. Students were allowed to return to the building to collect their belongings.

Dover High School students were held as the school went into a "stay-in-place" mode as many students walk through the grounds neighboring Middle School on their way home.

"The District would like to thank the students and staff for adhering to the safety protocols, as well as to our families for their patience and understanding as the Dover Police Department and Dover Fire Department conducted their safety check," Harbron said.

Harbron said all protocols were followed to address the threat. Dover Police continue to investigate the threat.
