A woman who gave birth to a child in the woods near Manchester's West Side Arena is the adoptive daughter of Red Sox announcer Dennis Eckersley.

Manchester Police said they were called to the area around 12:40 a.m. and met Alexandra Eckersley, 26, who gave a false location for the child's whereabouts. After an hour, she gave police the infant's true location. The baby was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Eckersley was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and was subsequently charged with felony - reckless conduct. She was arrested on an unrelated warrant out of Concord.

Patch of Concord was first to report the identity of Alexandra Eckersley's father. She was adopted by Eckersley and his first wife Nancy at birth.

His current wife Jennifer told the Concord Monitor in 2019 in a statement that Alexandra was diagnosed with mental illness at the age of two and called it "an incredibly private and painful situation."
