A swastika was reported on a shed on Exeter's Swasey Parkway Thursday morning, the second time a symbol of hate was found.

Exeter Police said it was painted on the back of the building some time ago but not noticed until Thursday.  The swastika was removed by police.

The other incidents of graffiti were tags painted on the building.

“While it’s unclear whether this most recent swastika was directed at anyone in particular, the defacing of property in such a manner is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. We’ll continue to investigate the circumstances of this incident and depending on the results of that investigation charges are certainly possible," Exeter Police Chief Stephan Poulin said in a statement. "We intend to fully prosecute anyone found responsible for these types of incidents, whether in the past within statute of limitations or in the future,”

The chief said under state law a person can face enhanced penalties for a hate crime.

Seacoast Crime Stoppers was looking for someone who tagged several businesses. bridges and the library in April, according to a report by Patch.

Poulin asked anyone with information about this incident to call 603-772-1212.
