Many Seacoast communities will take time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country during the Memorial Day weekend with parades and ceremonies.
The project to be built along Route 33 on the former Stump Dump landfill received unanimous final approval from the Portsmouth City Council on April 17, at a cost of $1,083,500.00.
A hazardous material was "identified and contained", but there was never a safety concern for the community or surrounding neighbors, according to Durham Police.
Portsmouth's own Tall Ship, the Gundalow Piscataqua, will lead the parade from the mouth of the Piscataqua River into Portsmouth Harbor along with the visiting ships, civilian and commercial fishing boats, and military and municipal craft.
