Concern that this new measure could hurt local brewers

According to a recent article in the Nashua Telegraph, Beer Distributors and Breweries across New Hampshire are not happy about a new bill that permits "outsiders" to sell products directly to retailers.

This new bill essentially allows out of state brewers to bypass the system and send direct shipments of their product to retailers in the Granite State.

According to Smuttynose Brewing Company's Peter Egleston, this will have a direct effect on NH Brewers and business........

"The market would be flooded with brands that have effectively snuck in through a back door........This bill is the wrong solution to a real problem, namely our state's ponderous and costly system for registering new beer brands, especially the small- volume brands that this bill is purported to support."

The bill is currently is the senate and is titled House Bill No. 1540.
