I'm sure at first it seemed like a good idea, but I'm guessing someone is regretting this decision.

Seacoastonline is reporting that a recent fire at Frisbee's Market in Kittery was accidentally set after someone tried using a blow torch to remove weeds from along the edges of the building.

Sgt. Joel Davis from the Maine Fire Marshal’s is quotes as saying......

There was some weed removal going on with a torch, and it looked like the heat got too close to the building.......that’s probably what first ignited due to heat.  It was purely accidental.

The building was built in 1828.  While fire officials said there was extensive damage to the front of the building, along with smoke damage to the interior, they say the structural integrity of the building is still secure.

Frisbee's is a staple to Kittery.  The good news is that owners say they plan to reopen.
