Last week, I posted the 'Best Country Songs of '14 (10-6). Now, comes my picks for the Top 5 songs of the year:

#5 - Thomas Rhett "Make Me Wanna." This song was just recently released, but it's so darn catchy and those of you who are children of the '70's, you'll know what I mean when I say this has such a '70's gold feel to it!

#4 - Kenny Chesney "American Kids." Mainly because the chorus describes my teenage life to a tee! "Growing up in little pink houses, making out on living room couches, blowing that smoke on Saturday night, a little messed up but we're all alright!

#3 - Jake Owen "Beachin'." I mean come on, you can't help but smile and sing along to this song. It just makes me happy!

#2 - Tim McGraw/Faith Hill "Meanwhile, Back at Mama's." Simply stated, I fell in love with this song the minute I heard it. McGraw's voice gets better with age (and so does his looks!) Plus, any song he sings with Faith, you just know is going to be a hit.

And...my number 1 pick for Country Song of the Year is...

#1 - Little Big Town "Sober" This may come as a surprise to you. However, Kimberly Schalpman's lead vocal and the sheer brilliance of the songwriters, Liz Rose, Lori McKenna and Hillary Lindsey makes this my number 1 song of 2014. Looking forward to seeing what 2015 brings!
