He's already serving between two and five years in prison, and has withdrawn an appeal.

According to Fosters Daily Democrat, Jordan Lamonde, who was convicted of felony second-degree assault last August, has withdrawn his appeal in state Supreme Court. The twenty four year old of Portsmouth brutally attacked a Rochester Planet Fitness employee in the parking lot. The jury found him guilty after less than two hours of deliberations. On June 12th of last year, Lamonde punched and kneed the victim a combined 41 times during the 28-second attack, which was captured on Planet Fitness’ surveillance cameras. Lamonde had waited eight hours before the end of the victim's shift. He reportedly snuck up behind her and attacked her because her boyfriend had stolen a safe from containing $30,000. Fortunately, the victim did not suffer any serious injuries. He later violated bail.

Why the withdrawal? It appears to be a mystery, for the moment. According to Fosters Daily Democrat, Lamonde’s appellate attorney, public defender Eric Wolpin, couldn’t be reached for comment Tuesday.
