Country Stars Join 2015 Red Nose Day Initiative
If you're wondering why red noses have been popping up all over social media, in Walgreens stores and on the faces of many, you've come to the right place. Lots of people, from your friend's little sister to your next-door neighbor, as well as celebrities and some of your favorite country stars, are joining together for Red Nose Day 2015.
Walgreens’ Red Nose Day campaign is dedicated to helping lift children out of poverty, and they’re doing it by having fun and making people laugh — while wearing a silly red nose. Walgreens is the exclusive retail partner of America’s first Red Nose Day, benefiting children and young people in poverty throughout the U.S. and overseas and championing their right to be healthy and happy.
Country stars like Jana Kramer and Ashley Monroe are joining in on the efforts, as you can see in the videos above. The beauties are wearing red noses for the cause and showing off their goofy, lighthearted sides, but they're also spotlighting this life-changing movement.
This special event is the U.K.'s No. 1 television fundraising event, so we at The Boot are very happy it's crossing the pond. The U.S.'s inaugural Red Nose Day will be held on May 21, 2015, with the day's events culminating in a three-hour television special, featuring fan-favorite comedians, musicians and Hollywood stars, on NBC.
By making a donation at any Walgreens nationwide you too can support Red Nose Day and the Red Nose Day Fund. For more information, visit the official Red Nose Day website.
The televised Red Nose Day fundraising event will take place on May 21 at 8PM ET on NBC.
