Maine is one of the most interesting places imaginable.

Name another place where you can bask in the glow of the sun on some of the best beaches in the world during summer, watch some hilarious and competitive kid-friendly professional baseball in the spring, shred down slopes while sculpting igloos and fishing through thick ice in the winter, and catch some of the best foliage in the country during fall.

All while sucking down a drink that some people say tastes like cough medicine, eating the deliciousness of sweet cream between two spongy chocolate cakes, getting aggression out by cracking a sea creature's claws before you bury the meat in butter (then your pie hole), and gazing at a sea of flannel at a moment's notice any time of year.

Maine is unique as hell and that's one of the many reasons we love it. It's also probably one of the only places in the world that would become so obsessed about a pole in a parking lot to the point it gains celebrity status.
