5 Things You Can Do To Entertain Yourself When You Are Invited On a Ski Weekend and Can’t Ski
This past weekend I went to Okemo Mountain in Vermont with my fiance and his family.
His sister was turning 25 and she wanted to go on a ski weekend to celebrate. I am very fond of her and I love celebrating birthdays so I decided to tag along even though I don't know how to ski.
When everyone left the cabin at 9 am for a day on the slopes it was clear that I was going to have a lot of Kira time and needed to find ways to keep myself entertained.
Here are five things I did while everyone else was skiing:
1. Hit up the arcade
Sure it was weird for a full grown 29 year old woman to hit up the arcade without any little ones but what do I care what people think?! I wanted to play some pinball.
2. Jumped on the bed
I can't do tricks like this girl, though.
3. Worked out at the gym
I got a little run in on the treadmill and did some free weights, that way I could mow down more cheese guilt free during activity number 4.
4. Ate cheese and crackers and drank wine
Happy hour, party of one!
5. Read a book by the fire
There is nothing more relaxing than curling up and reading a good book. It is so rare that we get to completely unplug and hear nothing other than the occasional sound of the crackling fire.
By the time everyone got home I was as wiped from my day of activities as they were from their day on the slopes! As It turns out, there is plenty of stuff to do on a ski weekend that doesn't involve skiing. :)
