A Vermont Couple Walked Away From A Plane Crash In Maine
(Bigelow Mountain, Maine) - Maine State Police say the man and woman from Colchester, Vermont escaped injury in the Thursday morning crash.
Frank Gibney was piloting the small float plane with Diane Muhr as a passenger.
They were flying alongside another plane piloted by a friend, headed to the Greenville Seaplane Fly-in. Gibney lost visibility due to weather, and his plane hit trees on Bigelow Mountain around 10:30 Thursday morning.
Gibney and Muhr were able to hike up the mountain and walked out of the woods along the Appalachian Trail.
The F.A.A. is investigating the crash.
