The children’s clothing retailer is reportedly filing for bankruptcy.

Tough times are ahead for Gymboree. National reports suggest that the children’s clothing retailer is facing bankruptcy, which would result in the closure of almost 900 stores under the Gymboree Group brand, including Janie and Jack and Crazy 8. However, according to WMUR News 9, Gymboree is reportedly looking to sell Janie and Jack to save the brand.

This isn't Gymboree's first chapter with bankruptcy. Back in  2017, the company was dealing with debt surpassing $1 billion. Then, the company was able to shed a reported $900 million in debt by closing the doors of 375 stores.

First reported by CNBC, the company expects to close much of the roughly 900 stores it operates under the Gymboree, Janie and Jack and Crazy 8 brands under the bankruptcy process.

Gymboree currently operates four locations in the Granite State, with a few others on the North Shore of Massachusetts, and in Kittery, Maine.
