If summer in New Hampshire had an official flavor, blueberries would have to be near the top of the list.

This weekend, Applecrest Farm Orchards in Hampton Falls is celebrating one of the season's sweetest fruits with its annual Blueberry Festival, offering two days packed with family-friendly fun, fresh fruit, and plenty of reasons to spend the day on the farm.

According to Applecrest, guests can enjoy pick-your-own blueberries and peaches, free tractor rides, live music, bakery samples, visits with the barnyard animals, and a stop at The Creamery for a scoop of ice cream.

Live music will feature Reunion Hill on Saturday and Cedar Mountain Bluegrass on Sunday.

One of the things I love most about Applecrest is that every visit feels like stepping into a piece of New Hampshire history. The property dates back to 1665, making it one of the oldest continuously operated orchards in the United States.

Over the centuries, the farm has grown through generations of dedicated owners who expanded the orchards, introduced beloved seasonal traditions, and helped make Applecrest a destination for families across New England.

Today, the farm remains family-owned, with the fourth generation continuing that legacy.

Fill a basket with fresh blueberries, sample homemade treats, or simply enjoy a summer afternoon in the countryside this weekend. This festival is a sweet reminder of why farm traditions continue to bring families together year after year.

And if you ask me, no summer weekend is complete without a handful of fresh-picked blueberries.
