Award-Winning Carly Pearce Sinks Into an Ice-Cold Plymouth, Massachusetts, Beach
Carly Pearce is up for quite a few awards, including Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year. She's been there before, having been the recipient of that same award last year, and also received the 2022 Academy of Country Music Female Vocalist of the Year. She was recently honored as one of CMT's Artists of the Year as well.
Carly has played numerous times in New England to thousands of eager fans.
The most important album of her career, "29", was released in 2021, with accolades from her fans and critics. The album, later released with added songs as "29: Written In Stone", won the hearts of many going through breakups and heartache, and her fanbase grew exponentially.
2022 brought Carly to stadium shows with the Kenny Chesney "We Do" Tour.
Locally, she played Gillette Stadium for the tour's final two shows. The next day, she and her tour manager and film crew went to Plymouth, Massachusetts, to record part of her music video for "What He Didn't Do".
The plot featured Carly in the ocean in a white gown. The video crew set up on Manomet Beach, and the work day started at 2 a.m. The crew wanted to catch the early morning light and sunrise.
Everyone was in a wet suit because the water was freezing, except for Carly in her flowing white gown.
Let me tell you about the conversation backstage at the radio meet-and-greet two days before the video shoot. Carly was meeting with us to say hi and chat. She showed up in a stunning pink accordion pleated gown.
The conversation turned to her video shoot on Cape Cod in two days. That's when a female radio host said, "Have you checked the "Sharktivity app" to see if there are sharks where you are going to shoot?"
Carly was stunned to hear this, and was shown the app. Sure enough, there was shark activity close by the beach where they were shooting the video. She ran out to her tour manager and showed him, and was so nervous to do the shoot.
Then we all left, wondering what was going to happen to the video shoot and the location. Turns out that Carly was a brave soul, and had her people watching out for the sharks, although the risk was low. She did make it into the water with the white gown, which we told her could be mistaken for a seal by a shark. We thought it was funny, but she didn't.
Congrats to Carly on another great video, and we are so happy you chose a beautiful New England beach to shoot "What He Didn't Do".
