NH Community Bands Together To Find Missing Baby Goats
If there’s one thing people who know me understand, it’s that I’m a HUGE animal lover. I’ve always had a soft spot for rescue stories, second chances, and the incredible people who dedicate their time to helping animals in need.
That’s why this story absolutely melted my heart.
Two rebellious baby goats recently gave their new family a scare after escaping shortly after being adopted! A common story among adopters. The tiny troublemakers managed to disappear into thick brush and wooded areas in Colebrook, New Hampshire, turning what should’ve been an adjusting weekend into a full-blown rescue mission.
I already know from their free loving spirits that I would absolutely adore these babies. For several stressful days (yes, a whole week), their family searched nonstop, refusing to give up hope.
As a dog mom of 3, my heart would have been in my stomach!
Thankfully, rescue volunteers and neighbors rallied to help. Humane traps, cameras, and lots of patience became the key to bringing this cute duo home safely. One goat was eventually caught first, while the second was carefully guided into a secure fenced area shortly afterward.
By early morning, both little escape artists were finally safe and reunited with their family.
The Granite State Dog Recovery said "No matter if it has paws or hooves, the mission is always the same: never give up."

Stories like this remind me why rescue work matters so much. Whether it’s dogs, cats, goats, or any other animal, there are people out there willing to go above and beyond to protect them. It takes compassion, teamwork, and a whole lot of persistence.
