Bears are Getting into People’s Trash and Climbing on Swingsets in Hanover and it’s Freaking People Out

According to WMUR, It's a mama bear and her three cubs and they have been spotted around downtown Hanover and near the Dartmouth College campus.

Julia Griffin who is the Hanover town manager said that there is a natural bear habitat between Hanover High School and Dartmouth College. So the fact that they are there is not shocking! However, they are very comfortable getting close to people's houses and venturing into areas with a lot of people and that is what is giving people the creeps.

The New Hampshire Department of Fish and Game will relocate the bears as a last resort but they really don't want to do that because they know more are around.

So if you live in the area hide your trash, take in those bird feeders! Hopefully that will discourage the bears and they will take a hike.
