The word is out, and the townies are not happy.

Paula, one of the bartenders, was cutting up with a couple at the bar, and said it was so busy since people in the region found out how fun it was at Choate Bridge Pub in Ipswich, Massachusetts.

People come from all over, not just Ipswich, Rowley or Hamilton.

People have discovered the Friday Night Prime Rib for $35 and the fried seafood as good as it gets because it comes in fresh and local.  The pizza is so delicious, and what is it about those crazy good French fries?

This local pub has been a mainstay in Ipswich, Massachusetts, for 48 years, and not a lot has changed.  The food was always great, and the pub has always been a place for locals to gather after games, before dinners, after work.

It's true a place for locals to meet.  You always knew somebody in the bar, and clinked your glasses to whatever the latest Ipswich news was.  It's a real-life "Cheers" pub.

Yes, the Choate Bridge Pub has been the place to go for decades.

Situated on the banks of the Ipswich River, the "pub" (as locals call it) has been in business a long time.  When a new owner purchased the business in 2021, they had to promise not to change it.

Other than a few tweaks, it's the same pub we've always loved.

Now, three years later, it's busier than ever.  Word is out about the bartenders and waitresses who are all true North Shore characters.   There's a whole lot of laughter at the Choate Bridge Pub, and it's always lively.

Locals will remember when Bill "Angus" McLeod owned the restaurant, he only bought clams from the locals.  Ipswich clams are on menus all over the world, but here, they truly were local.  If the clam flats were closed, there was a sign that said, "Flats are closed, no fried clams today."

Just make sure you go hungry.
