5 Places to Find the Best Apple Cider Donuts in New Hampshire
There are certain things I am willing to have a calm, reasonable conversation about.
Apple cider donuts are apparently not one of them.
I asked listeners where to find the best cider donuts in New Hampshire, and people responded with the kind of confidence usually reserved for politics and football.
After sorting through the listener votes and comparing them with online reviews, these five places kept rising to the top.

1. Meadow Ledge Farm – Loudon
612 Route 129, Loudon, NH 03307
Meadow Ledge absolutely dominated the listener vote.
Colette Taylor said “Meadow Ledge Farms Loudon hands down,” while Louri Boilard called the place “legendary.” Kathy Perrin, Renée Small, Liz Joyce, Kathy Shattuck, Debbie Green and several others all backed it up.
The biggest selling point? Fresh, hot cider donuts.
Which is dangerous because “I’ll just have one” is one of the biggest lies we tell ourselves in the fall.

2. Butternut Farm – Farmington
195 Meaderboro Road, Farmington, NH 03835
Butternut Farm had a small army behind it.
Shayla Legendre shouted out “Butternut Farm in Farmington!!!” while Lauren Reindl, Jill Engel, Pamela Ross Fieldsend, Stephanie Strydom and others agreed.
Denise Higgins summed up the appeal perfectly: “They are warm & delicious!”
Warm changes everything.
At that point, you’re no longer buying donuts. You’re making decisions emotionally.

3. Chichester Country Store – Chichester
257 Main Street, Chichester, NH 03258
Chichester Country Store came up over and over.

Lisa Cartier said they are “Absolutely the best!!!” with Amanda Phillips, Laura Sforza, Linda Morgan and Jennifer Brown also voting for them.
This one is great because you don’t need the full orchard experience.
Sometimes you just need coffee, a cider donut and immediate access to your vehicle so you can quietly eat another one before anyone sees you.

4. Carter Hill Orchard – Concord
73 Carter Hill Road, Concord, NH 03303*
Brian Douillette, Peggy Bailey, Katie Wenzel and Elizabeth Jane all cast votes for Carter Hill Orchard.
No long explanations.
Just Carter Hill.
I respect that level of confidence.
It also gives you the full New Hampshire fall experience: orchard views, apples, cider and fresh donuts.
Basically New Hampshire showing off again.

5. Applecrest Farm Orchards – Hampton Falls
133 Exeter Road, Hampton Falls, NH 03844
Applecrest gives the Seacoast a strong showing.
Karen Cantelli, Anita Gouthier, Lucy Roberts and Alice A. Moore all voted for Applecrest.
The farm is known for serving its cider donuts fresh and hot, which is really the only acceptable condition for a cider donut if we’re being serious about this.
Applecrest is also one of those places where you walk in saying, “I’m just getting donuts.”
Then you leave with apples, cider, baked goods and $47 worth of things you did not know you needed.
So Who Wins?
Based on the listener vote, Meadow Ledge Farm in Loudon takes the top spot, with Butternut Farm right behind it.
But Valerie Chase may have had the most accurate answer of all:
“Lol, any apple orchard!”
Fair.
Because a warm apple cider donut on a crisp New Hampshire fall day is almost impossible to screw up.
Find an orchard.
Get a half dozen.
Pretend some are making it home.
Then eat three in the parking lot like a squirrel preparing for winter.
That’s fall in New Hampshire.
