No one is Surprised that This was Named the Best Small Town in New Hampshire
We have so many charming, quintessential New England small towns in New Hampshire. Though they are small, they are mighty with cute downtowns, quality eateries, scenic views and kind residents.
When a publication like worldatlast.com decides to release a list of the best small towns in every state, they have their work cut out for them with New Hampshire! We are made of great small towns!
But you won't hear an argument from anyone about the town that they picked; the one and only Meredith, New Hampshire.
I am a huge fan, just look at how much I am enjoying this chocolatey concoction at one of my favorite Summer spots, Town Docks, in Meredith:
What makes Meredith, New Hampshire, so great? (aside from Town Docks)
The fact that the town sits pretty along Lake Winnipesaukee already puts it a step above the rest. There is no shortage of tree-lined walkways to the scenic coastline. And the water isn't just there for you to look at! Become one with the lake with your fishing pole, water skis, tubes, etc!
Meredith also has an array of natural areas such as Bear Island and Chemung State Forest with tons of acres of recreation and beauty.

When is the best time to visit Meredith, New Hampshire?
Most people will tell you you should in the Summer. That is when the the town really comes to life and you can expect the streets to be packed with folks meandering through town exploring their specialty stores, quaint restaurants, and Victorian architecture.
However, I love to visit in the early Fall! Late September/early October is awesome because it is less crowded and you might even be able to enjoy the fall foliage reflecting off of the gorgeous lake; one of my favorite sights. Also Moulton Farm’s pumpkin patch is a must visit in the Fall.
It doesn't much matter what month you visit! Meredith, New Hampshire, is charming any time of year and is well deserving of the title "New Hampshire's Best Small Town".
Do you agree with their choice? If not, which small town would you choose instead? Shoot me a message and let me know I'd be curious to hear what you think.
