Only one New England town made the list of Conde Nast's most spectacular holiday light displays.

Boothbay, Maine is home to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.  The magazine named Gardens Aglow, which you can find at the botanical garden, to the Top 22 of the best light displays the world has to offer!

According to Conde Nast Traveler, the displays that made the Top 22 are worth "planning a trip around".   Many of the other winners hail from outside the United States.  The Netherlands, Italy, England and even Denmark.

That makes it even more impressive that a small town in Maine made the list!

Conde Nast says that the Gardens Aglow display is "awe inspiring".   The Botanical Gardens are actually almost 300 acres, the largest in New England.

The lights are truly spectacular, and Gardens Aglow is requiring people to purchase tickets in advance.  According to the Boothbayregister, there are over 650,000 lights over a one mile long course.  It's transformed into a Winter Wonderland.

There are also giant reptiles to go with the yearly theme of "Wicked Wetland Wonders."

According to Mainegardens.com, this is the sixth year for this dazzling display. Due to Covid-19, this year it will be a driving tour which I think is actually perfect. I'd much rather drive through with the heat on and look at the gorgeous lights.  Plus, if you have older relatives it makes it much easier to do a drive through and not have to worry about walking outside in the cold.

The display runs until December 31st.  If you want to take a ride to see one of Conde Nast's Best Of Winners, you can get tickets here.
