Do You Agree? This Massachusetts Spot Named No. 2 Most Caring City in the United States
There are so many lists flying around this time of year, and here's one more, but this list is not a drive-by. It's one you'll want to take a look at.
Wallethub.com posted a list of the top 100 most caring cities in America, and surprisingly, neither New Hampshire nor Maine made the list. But Massachusetts did.
In fact, Boston was the #2 most caring city in America, which makes sense.
There are so many programs inside of Boston to take care of groups of people, ranging from the homeless to the unemployed, uninsured, single parents, disabled, and veterans who need help. That's just a smattering of they types of people this city holds dear.
Boston is also the #1 city in the country for caring for employee in the workforce. That's a bold statement, and an innovative one.
WalletHub says it best.
Bostonians have hearts of gold hiding behind their reputation for rudeness. Boston residents donate more money online per capita than anyone else in the U.S.
Boston is also the most energy-efficient city and has the oldest public park in America, the Boston Common, so there's a lot to be proud of in Beantown. Shall we mention the championship sports teams too?
On the caring side of Americans, we donated $500 billion in 2022, and while that's an astounding number, it's down 3.4% from the previous year, factoring in the inflation rate.
Being kind doesn't necessarily cost any money. An act of kindness counts too.
The biggest factor for a top caring city is the cooperation between a city government and its residents. The only city to beat Boston was Madison, Wisconsin, but that doesn't bother Bostonians. After all, Boston is known as the "Hub of the Universe" by its people, and that's another reason why they take care of their own.
Congratulation to the Hub.
