The Boston Red Sox are currently in a pennant race for the American League East. But Major League Baseball, and fans are already looking toward next season.

The Sox 2018 schedule was released earlier this week, and it's weird to say the least. Boston opens the season March 29, on the road in Tampa, against the Rays. If that seems a bit early to you...it is. As a matter of fact, it's the earliest start to a season in MLB history...minus the games played in Japan in 2008.

After taking on the Rays, Boston heads south to play two inner-league games with Miami.

They finally head home to Fenway Park on April 5 to once again play Tampa.

Make sure to keep your coat and gloves handy if you plan on attending.

I guess the good news for the Sox is at least they'll be somewhere warm to start the season. And hopefully they'll bring a hot winning streak back home. Click HERE to see Boston's entire 2018 schedule.
