Braintree, MA, Firefighter Buys Groceries for Elderly Man in Need
According to CBS Boston, Jackie Giacchetti is an essential employee who works for the fire department in Braintree, Massachusetts. Jackie picked up a 911 call and heard something unusual on the other end (and she's picked up A LOT of 911 calls!)
The voice was that of an elderly man saying that he needs food.
I can only assume she heard desperation in his voice and thought that if he called 911 he must really need help and not have any other options.
Jackie reacted quickly with her head and heart and immediately took down the mans name, address, and what he needed from the grocery store, the news station reported. She threw on her mask and gloves, headed to the super market and purchased all of the items on his list.
20 minutes later she knocked on his door and surprised the elderly man with his groceries.
According to Jackie's Facebook post the man was extremely surprised and appreciative. The look on his face was priceless.
I'm not crying, you're crying.
Jokes aside, It is absolutely amazing to see our essential workers going above and beyond for the people in our communities. We will never be able to repay you for all that you do but just know that we salute you.
