I've seen some pretty cool things on Lake Winnipesaukee, but I have never seen so many cars on the ice.

And although it is WICKED cool, many people are left feeling anxious as they watch trucks do donuts, tow skiers, and drive over the lake's frozen water.

Yesterday, a Facebook account, Rob Wright Images, posted a video of what has been taking place on Lake Winnipesaukee now that it has been freezing for a few weeks...

Warning, if you are fearful of falling through the ice, this may give you anxiety - but no cars or humans are injured so have no fear.

Can You Legally Drive on New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee in the Winter?

You can! I was shocked to learn this too.

According to a Weirs Beach article, cars can, and do, drive on Lake Winnipesaukee nearly every winter. It is extremely dangerous, and drivers should take caution as vehicles are found crashing through the ice almost every winter.

This could obviously lead to a lot worse consequences than the car damage...

How Thick Does the Ice Need to Be to Skate and Ice Fish on Lake Winnipesaukee?

According to a CBS article, when the ice is 4 inches or more, it is safe to ice skate and ice fish.

How Thick Does the Ice Need to Be to Drive on Lake Winnipesaukee?

Snowmobiling or driving an ATV on ice can be safely done with about 5-6 inches of ice.

When it comes to vehicles; however, a minimum of 10 inches of ice is recommended for safety.

And it has been brutally cold here in New Hampshire, so go watch those cars driving on Lake Winnipesaukee again - it is pretty rad.
