Ceres Bakery In Portsmouth New Hampshire Celebrates 42 Years With Free Coffee
You know you have an incredible business, loyal customers, and are doing something right when you are in business for over 30 years.
Well, this legendary bakery in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is exceeding that.
Ceres Bakery at 51 Penhallow Street is celebrating their 42nd birthday today. But they're not receiving gifts. Instead, they're giving thanks to the Seacoast community in an exciting way.
Ceres Bakery is giving out free coffee on their birthday, 7/19/2022. A Facebook post reads:
"Join us tomorrow to celebrate our birthday… we will have free birthday coffee for ya "
If you miss the birthday and free coffee, definitely go visit and offer the two ladies who run the show a "Happy Belated."
Operating since 1980, the two women in the photo below are "two of our original cast members, Penny (left, founder/owner) and Lyn (right, star baker/always covered in flour)."
For these two women to be running the same bakery for 42 years seems like an amazing, small town story that I love sharing.
A sweet congratulations to Penny and Lyn.
If you have not tried Ceres, give it a go...you will not regret it.
"The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is speedy and friendly, and the eclectic staff keeps it a cheerful and informal place to eat," according to the website. "The food is always made from scratch right here."
Ceres offers breakfast treats like wraps, muffins, scones, and more. They also offer lunch items like quiche, soups, salads, and sandwiches like the Sesame-ginger Roasted Chicken Wrap with brown rice, crunchy veggies, and a spicy peanut sauce.
Best part? All rotate, change, and evolve. How else do you stay popular and around for 42 years? They also have a freshly-made bread schedule.
Give them a go if you haven't. If you have...well you know why they are celebrating 42 years.
