Skiers Nightmare: Chair Lift Detaches – Man Falls 20 Feet at This New Hampshire Resort
Every skier and snowboarder has had the same thought - wondering if their chair on the ski lift could ever detach.
When you are looking at the cable, especially while on the lift, it is a bit nauseating knowing that the chair is simply resting so casually... then you go over the bumps...
It can be unsettling.
But it is not too common.
How common are chair lift accidents on ski mountains?
According to a Summit Daily article, of the 450 million passengers that ski lifts and gondolas take annually, there are about 0.8 fatal accidents.
Even when accidents happen, rarely are they fatal. And thank GOODNESS this one is not either.
It's important to say this in advance, the skier in this story is okay and was walking around the same afternoon of the fall.
