Close to 2 Dozen Animals Abandoned in Exeter Need Our Help
The New Hampshire SPCA's website tells the story of rescuing 21 abandoned animals from a house in Exeter recently. This simply devastates me. It appears the people who lived at the house on Wanda Lane were evicted some two weeks prior and all these animals were left behind.
The neglected animals included 10 cats, 5 rabbits, 3 gerbils, 2 turtles and 1 guinea pig. The guinea pig had to be humanely euthanized due to his extremely compromised condition. NHSPCA's Steve Sprowl said “The cats and rabbits especially were drinking water like they hadn’t had it in days, or longer.”
With the addition of these 20 animals now in protective custody, the NHSPCA is, as you can imagine, quite strapped. These newest residents join 32 dogs that are also being cared for under protective custody.
The New Hampshire SPCA is asking for your help. If you would like to assist with the cost of care and to help ensure their recovery, please click the link below or get in touch with the NHSPCA in Stratham to find out how you can help. Thank you.
