CMA Awards Poke Fun at Maine Nurse, Throwback Thursday = Mark Ericson and Mikey Martel + Kenny and Jason Tickets

Did you catch the 48th Annual CMA Awards on ABC (or right here on WOKQ) last night? If you did, you heard a very funny parody song that poked some fun at Kaci Hickox, the Maine nurse who made national headlines by defying quarantine orders after returning to the U.S. from treating Ebola patients in West Africa.

If you're a Dolly Parton fan, you know the song they covered was 'Jolene.' You can see for yourself how funny the bit was. (3:44 is when it starts)

Setting the agenda
Republican leaders are making their case for a GOP legislative agenda aimed at jobs and the economy. In an op-ed piece in The Wall Street Journal today, the Republicans include the tax code, terrorism, school choice, government regulations and the national debt in their list of priorities for the next Congress. Now that the GOP will control the Senate in January, Sen. Mitch McConnell is expected to become majority leader. The Kentucky senator and House Speaker John Boehner will have the authority to set the congressional agenda.

Nude photos being investigated in Exeter
Police and school officials say students at Exeter High School may have been involved in a “social media” incident in which nude photos of girls were distributed throughout the school. Superintendent Michael Morgan issued a statement to the school community today saying that a recent social media incident at the school involved the “inappropriate use of personal technology” Police Chief Richard Kane said his department is “actively investigating” but does not believe any charges will be filed.

Judge says he overstepped his authority
A judge who sparked outrage by planning to reduce the prison sentence he handed down days earlier in a child sex assault case now says he overstepped his authority. Carroll County Superior Court Judge David Garfunkel ruled yesterday that he cannot amend the 7-1/2-year sentence he gave Joshua Baud of Wakefield in September.

A bus driver in Egypt was concerned he wouldn't pass a drug test so he had his wife pee in a cup and he sent her sample in. That's how the happy couple found out they were pregnant!
