Finally, the Coolest Luxury Movie Theatre Experience Opens November 17 in Boston
Homemade food and custom cocktails served to your luxury reclining theatre seats while watching the latest movies, participating in celebrity Q&A's, or viewing classics and independent films are just some of what you can expect with this wonderful experience.
When I heard the Alamo Drafthouse was coming to its first New England location in Boston, I did a little hop-and-scream. And, now, we finally have the opening date of November 17 in the Seaport District of Boston.
It truly is the best film, food, and drink establishment where you order and dine from your reclining seats, regardless of whether you want movie theatre popcorn or a full meal.
Look, I know it's a movie theater, but it's an experience that truly elevates this to a different level. The press release sums this opening up nicely.
Founded in 1997, Alamo Drafthouse has been heralded for unique programming events, great food and drinks, and high exhibition standards, earning accolades including “Best Theater Ever” by Time Magazine and “The Coolest Theater in the World” by Wired. A September 2018 Market Force Information survey of nearly 13,000 moviegoers across the country gave Alamo Drafthouse the #1 ranking for Favorite Movie Theater, Best Service, and all food and beverage-related categories.
Of course, similar theaters exist, but trust me, Alamo knows what's up when it comes to making it more than just a night out at the movies. That includes the ambiance and atmosphere, which gives you an "I'm never seeing a movie any other way, again" attitude.
No, they're not paying me to say this. I just love them. They aren't everywhere, so this makes it that much more special and exciting for those of us in New Hampshire and Maine, as it will require a day trip or getaway weekend to enjoy what Alamo Drafthouse is all about.
As I mentioned above, this is the first-ever New England location, which will be in downtown Boston in the Seaport district.
What a perfect location for this 10-screen theatre with its signature mix of first-run films, documentaries, and foreign language films, as well as specialty programming, classics, movie parties, and those Q&A's mentioned.
The food is mouthwatering and made from scratch, and there's also an amazing drink and cocktail menu.
The luxury seating is in every single auditorium, with super comfy reclining seats and footrests. There's also a full-service bar and restaurant, as well as a vintage movie poster shop with lots of movie-going goodness for cinema junkies.
I hope you get a chance to enjoy the Alamo Drafthouse for a day or night out in Boston.
