One town in Ohio is reportedly considering the measure.

We've all been there. Even fawning "dog people" have raised an eyebrow, thrown a stink eye, or even confronted an owners who's dog won't...stop...barking. Annoying, yes. However, probably not jailable offense, right? RIGHT?!

According to WMUR News 9, Akron Ohio is mulling over a plan to jail pet owners if they can't keep their dogs from barking. This wouldn't apply to one time offenders. The article stated "After the first offense, the fee would increase from $100 to $250. Also, it would allow for the possibility of 60 days in jail.

Those who are pushing for the new law told original reporter Fox 8 "What we want to see is a stiffer penalty so that repeat offenders of the ordinance will think twice before allowing the dog to continue to disturb the neighborhood," said Councilman Russ Neal, who is leading the effort. Safety committee Chairman Donnie Kammer proposed punishment of up to $1,000 fee for repeat offenders.

Savage or what? Does this have a place in New Hampshire?
