It's not as flashy as the Winter Olympics, but if you want to get out of the house for a day on the cheap, a drive up to Camden, Maine might be the fix you need.

It's about two and half hours from southern New Hampshire, and isn't weather dependent. In fact, standing in mid 30's weather is a lot more fun than single digit with a negative wind chill. It's one of the biggest parts of the annual Camden Snow Bowl. According to their website, the event goes on Friday - Sunday, with the main events Sunday afternoon. Teams from all around the country compete, and while the competition is fierce, it's more about having fun.

Think of it as a (much) more relaxed Winter Olympics.
