Now this is a feel-good story.

According to CBS42, Nick Abbot, who is from Maine, adopted his dog Emerson through the foster-based rescue, NFR Maine. Both Nick and his dog are deaf.

The news station stated that Emerson was originally from a Florida shelter before moving up to Maine.

I used to do charity work for a shelter in Pennsylvania and my job was to pick up some of these dogs from the south that would be transported to places here in the North East, which are NO KILL shelters.

Nick said in the news article that because he's deaf, he felt like he would have a "good connection" with Emerson. It seems the two have hit it off really well.

To top it off, Nick is teaching Emerson sign language. These two are certainly a perfect match.
